Plans & billing
Bookbag's plans — Free, Starter, Growth, Scale, and Enterprise — and how the credits model works: billing is per workspace (members share the workspace's plan and credits), every plan has a finite monthly allotment, plus usage tracking and auto-recharge.
View as MarkdownBookbag billing is built around credits. Each AI reply consumes credits, and every plan includes a monthly credit allotment. Plans also set your limits — agents, data sources, team seats — and which channels and features you can use.
See the credits model in depth in Credits & usage, and the current prices on the pricing page.
Billing is per workspace
The subscription, plan, and credit balance belong to the workspace — not to you personally. When you invite teammates to a workspace, they work under that workspace's plan: they use its features and draw from its shared credit balance, and the workspace owner is the one who pays. Collaborators don't need their own paid plan to help out.
Your account can own one workspace and be a member of others. The plan and credits you see in the app always belong to the workspace you're currently in — switch workspaces (top-left) and the plan, features, and credit balance switch with it.
The plans
Bookbag offers five plans, from a free tier for trying things out to Enterprise for high-volume teams. Every plan has a defined monthly credit allotment — no plan is unlimited.
| Plan | Monthly credits | Agents | Seats | Highlights |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 50 | 1 | 1 | Website widget + API. Try Bookbag end to end at no cost. |
| Starter | 600 | 2 | 1 | Adds Slack & email channels, store integrations, and removes Bookbag branding. |
| Growth | 5,000 | 5 | 5 | Adds voice, help desk, human handoff, skills, WhatsApp/Messenger/Instagram, analytics, scheduled retraining, and a custom domain. |
| Scale | 15,000 | 20 | 15 | All channels, advanced analytics, priority routing, white-label, and SSO. |
| Enterprise | Custom (from 50,000) | Custom | Custom | Custom volume, all features, HIPAA, audit logs, and custom roles. Contact sales. |
Higher plans raise the per-agent data source limits too (from 10 sources on Free up to thousands on Scale, and a custom amount on Enterprise).
How credits work
A credit is the unit of usage. Each AI reply costs credits according to the model's configured cost, so cheaper, faster models stretch your allotment further. Your plan refreshes a monthly allotment of credits.
- Monthly allotment — the credits your plan includes each billing period. Shared across everyone in the workspace.
- Credits used (30d) — how much the workspace has consumed in the trailing 30 days, shown in the billing summary.
- Credits remaining — what's left in the workspace's current balance. The Credits widget in the sidebar shows this at a glance.
There is no unlimited plan. Every tier — Free through Enterprise — has a finite monthly credit balance, and once it runs out the agents stop replying until the next refresh, a top-up, or an upgrade. Enterprise volumes are custom (starting at 50,000 credits/month). Set auto-recharge if you never want to run dry.
See Credits & usage for exactly what consumes credits and how per-model costs are set.
Auto-recharge
To avoid running out mid-month, you can enable auto-recharge: when your balance drops below a threshold you set, Bookbag automatically tops it up by the amount you choose. Configure the threshold and top-up amount in billing.
Set the threshold high enough that a busy day won't interrupt your agents before the recharge clears.
