About Bookbag

We're building the AI company

Like Odoo built 50+ business apps from one platform, Bookbag is building the full AI infrastructure stack — one product at a time. Governance, open-source agents, and more on the way.

Our Mission

Build the AI infrastructure stack that serious teams actually need — from production governance to open-source agents. One company, growing.

Why Now

AI teams are building fast but cobbling together tools from a dozen vendors with no coherent story. There's no single company building the full stack. We're building it. The same way Odoo replaced 10 point solutions with one integrated suite, Bookbag does that for AI infrastructure.

What We Believe

Integration beats point solutions. Products that share a data layer and a company behind them are more powerful than duct-taped alternatives. And open source builds trust — we ship MIT-licensed tools so teams can start without asking procurement.

What we've built

Two product areas today. More in progress.

AI Governance Platform

Flagship

Four products on one data layer: Observe, Guardrails, Evaluation, and Governance. For teams shipping AI agents to production that need runtime enforcement, audit trails, and compliance evidence — EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, SOC 2.

Explore platform

OpenBook

Open Source · MIT

An open-source AI agent that runs in the browser. No local install. Self-host with Docker or use the hosted version. The agent you'd build yourself — except it's already built. Available at github.com/bookbaghq/bookbag-ce.

The multi-product thesis

Odoo started with one accounting module in 2005. By staying focused on integration and keeping each product useful standalone but better together, they built 50+ business apps that now compete with Salesforce, SAP, and Quickbooks simultaneously.

We think the same logic applies to AI infrastructure. Today, teams are stitching together observability tools, guardrail products, evaluation platforms, and open-source agent frameworks — all from different companies, with no shared context.

Bookbag is building the integrated alternative. Each product works independently. Together, they share a data layer, a shared understanding of your AI system, and a governance trail that spans from agent action to compliance evidence.

We're early. Governance is live. OpenBook just shipped. More products are in progress. We're playing a long game.

Who uses Bookbag

AI platform teams

Engineers shipping agents to production who own "how does this agent not burn down the company." They start with our SDK or Gateway and use OpenBook as their agent runtime.

Compliance & risk teams

Legal, compliance, and risk professionals in regulated industries who need auditable proof that every AI decision has a trace mapped to EU AI Act, NIST, or ISO 42001 controls.

Developers & builders

Developers who want a self-hostable, open-source AI agent without starting from scratch. They fork OpenBook, extend it, and ship it as part of their own product.
